Blacktip Shark
Blacktip sharks are fast, powerful fighters that'll test your skills. They average 4-5 feet but can reach up to 9 feet. You'll find them in shallow coastal waters, often near beaches and in the surf. Summer's the best time to target them when water temps warm up. Blacktips are known for their acrobatic leaps and explosive strikes. They're a blast to catch on heavy tackle, giving you a real workout. We often chum to bring them in close. For bait, try fresh-cut mackerel or mullet on a wire leader. Blacktips have good eating qualities too, with firm, mild meat. Remember to handle them carefully - those teeth are no joke!
Cobia
Cobia are prized catches, averaging 30-50 pounds but can top 100. They're often mistaken for sharks due to their shape. You'll find them near buoys, wrecks, and other structure, usually in 30-70 feet of water. Spring and early summer are prime times as they migrate. Cobia are curious fish - they'll sometimes swim right up to the boat. They put up a stubborn fight, known for powerful runs and head-shaking jumps. The meat is excellent, with a firm texture and mild flavor. Sight-fishing for cobia is a thrill. Look for them near the surface, often following rays or turtles. Crevalle Jack

Jacks travel in schools, so when you find one, there's usually more. These guys are pure muscle and will give you an arm-burning fight. They're not known for great eating, but the battle makes up for it. Watch for birds diving - that's often a sign jacks are pushing bait to the surface. To hook up, try fast-moving lures like spoons or topwater plugs. Local trick: if you see a jack following your lure, speed up your retrieve to trigger a strike.
Redfish

Spanish Mackerel
